Heat CSP Blog Task:
Work through the following tasks and questions to build a detailed case study for Heat - 21-27 November 2020 - our CSP front cover. This will give you plenty of background information to use in an exam question on magazines.
Introduction - Heat Media pack
1) Look at the Heat Media Pack. Go to page 2: the Heat mission. Write three things that Heat offers its readers under 'print'. A unique, quality experience.
2) Now go to page 3 of the Media Pack - celebrity focus. What does the page say that Heat offers readers?

4) Look at page 5. What is Heat magazine's audience profile? Write all the key details of their audience here.

Media Language
1) How are the cover lines written to make the audience want to buy the magazine? Consider the interest/intrigue they create.
They put a question on the image to make the audience curious and put them on to research and find the answer.
2) What are the connotations of the Heat colour scheme on this particular front cover?
the connotations of the colour pink they added are that it is a bright colour which makes it stand out more as to the yellow font makes it all the more interesting and crazy. The red frame connotes christmas and it an attractive colour.
3) How are images used to create interest in the magazine? Find three reasons for your answer. (E.g. paparazzi images or aspects of mise-en-scene such props, costume, make-up, body position, facial expression etc.)
In the magazine, posh spice is shown wearing casual clothes to collect gas from the gas station. The camera angle is very close up which also shows this photo was taken without her consent. This affects the readers by giving them an idea of celebrities behind the scenes.

Taltler uses sans serif this makes it more elegant looking whereas Heat uses a typical type write this shows that they don't really mind how it is presented. Talter uses capital letters in the start of the title to show that they are formal. Heat doesn't use capital letters this suggests that they are informal.

they bare presented as both positively and negatively because of the drama the magazine tries to put the audience on in the celebs personal lives.
